Background
King Living is a leading Australian furniture retail chain, furniture designer and manufacturer.
King Living had implemented SAP B1 for HANA with some additional modules and integrations including Boyum, Crystal Reports, Concur and TM1. The solution was relatively stable; however, the organisation had not yet realised the promised benefits, staff in the business were not confident using SAP and production in China was not yet deployed.
Business Challenge
King Living needed an independent ERP and IT consulting organisation to develop an IT Strategy to support the organisation moving forward.
IT Strategy Results
CMC was engaged to conduct an IT Strategic Review. CMC used an interview-based process involving King Living’s Senior Leadership Team, Business Process Owners and the Vendors.
The review included:
- Situational Analysis and Gap Analysis.
- Assessment of King Living and Vendor resources, skill sets, suitability, and capacity to enable future planning.
- Identification of staff training and business process change management requirements.
- Definition of specific requirements for the Vendor to deliver the desired outcomes for King Living.
A Recommendations Report and Action Plan including potential workstreams and improvement initiatives were identified.
King Living accepted the recommendations of the IT Strategic Review and engaged CMC to provide ongoing ERP Strategy, CIO Services and Project Management to support the implementation of the recommended workstreams which included Manufacturing, Finance, Retail and eCommerce.
