CMC ensures project governance by implementing a logical, robust, and auditable decision-making framework. This approach provides organisations with a structured method for managing both routine and project governance activities. CMC advises appointing a Steering Committee for all projects to ensure stakeholders understand and agree on the project structure, issues, risks, decisions, and variations.
Effective communication of project status, issues, and risks at the appropriate level of detail is crucial.
Project Management Office (PMO)
Resource allocation has become more complex and unpredictable for companies responding to volatile business environments. The widening gap between available funding and project needs further complicates this challenge.
A Project Management Office centralises project management and control to align with the organisation’s strategic business objectives.
The PMO drives value by:
- Maintaining project integrity through independent assurance.
- Providing a single source of enterprise program data for stakeholder reporting.
- Escalating risks and issues to enable timely decision-making.
- Implementing standardised program and project management processes.
- Supporting Project Directors in achieving their objectives.

Many CMC directors and consultants have experience implementing ITIL Service Delivery frameworks and have provided consulting services in this area to both private and public sector organisations.
