Background

Manassen Foods, a privately owned Australian company established in 1948, distributes to the multi-faceted FMCG industry.

Manassen engaged Intentia to deploy the Infor M3 ERP solution, replacing their legacy business systems. The company needed Warehouse Consulting support and a Project Manager to set up project governance, liaise with the vendor and the business, and manage the project moving forward.

Business Challenge

The business had very few internal resources with ERP implementation experience or availability. It also lacked in-house logistics and warehouse design expertise.

Manassen’s warehouse network was not configured to leverage the Advanced Warehouse Management processes offered by Infor M3. No internal resources were available to document the business processes required for the new workflows introduced by the system.

Results

CMC established the initial Project Framework and Project Plan. The business also engaged a Logistics and Warehouse Consulting specialist and a Business Process expert to lead critical parts of the implementation. The in-house IT Manager later took over ongoing project management.

CMC’s Warehouse Management consultant redesigned the warehouses to follow a more effective model, standardised processes, and implemented accurate control of Use By Dates and Picking selections.

CMC submitted and implemented a warehouse renumbering strategy and migration plan. The business shifted the ERP rollout from a “big bang” to a Phased approach to match its capacity for change.

A highly experienced Business Process Modeller created testing and training documentation and identified the business processes required to operate and manage the ERP system.

After the initial implementation, CMC’s Program Manager developed a Program Charter and Schedule for the broader rollout, which included an Infrastructure Assessment.
