Background
Tyremax, an independent Australian Tyre wholesaler, recognised the need to upgrade their ERP system to enhance business processes and drive efficiencies.
Tyremax anticipated that a new ERP would provide the foundation for future expansion.
Business Challenge
The organisation faced several challenges with their legacy ERP system:
- Heavy customisation of the existing system.
- Reliance on off-system tools, including MS Excel.
- Need for improved operational effectiveness and financial visibility.
- Requirement for better workflow, reporting, and automation.
- Demand for enhanced supply chain management.
ERP Evaluation Results
To address these challenges, Tyremax engaged Combined Management Consultants (CMC) to conduct an independent ERP evaluation. CMC implemented a structured approach:
- Initiated a Vendor Pre-Qualification process to shortlist suitable ERP vendors and solutions.
- Managed the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
- Oversaw Vendor Presentations and Due Diligence activities.
- Provided technical advice to support decision-making.
- Prepared a Vendor Selection Report for the Tyremax Board.
The project aimed to achieve several key objectives:
- Implement a fully integrated and stable ERP platform to support growth.
- Streamline operational effectiveness through improved business processes.
- Enhance visibility of financial information and KPIs for profitability tracking.
- Improve workflow, reporting, and automation across business units.
- Automate demand forecasting, stock ordering, and inventory control.
- Increase efficiencies in supply chain management, including warehouse operations, logistics, and fleet management.
Following the successful ERP evaluation, Tyremax further engaged CMC to assist with an Inventory Analytics and Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Project.
