Background

Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries NSW (SMCNSW) began operations in 2012 to manage and govern the Woronora Memorial Park and Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park. SMCNSW actively oversees these two significant sites and aligns their operations with strategic organisational goals.

Business Challenge

SMCNSW sought to implement a new integrated Cemetery Management and Finance Solution to support growth. The organisation aimed to reduce manual processes and enhance efficiencies across both sites in several key areas:

  • Financial and Management Reporting
  • Sales and Marketing
  • Customer Care
  • Facilities Management and Maintenance

The implementation team first focused on Woronora Memorial Park operations and Finance/Administration functions. After establishing a proven operational template at Woronora, the team implemented the solution at Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park.

Software Evaluation Results

Combined Management Consultants (CMC) facilitated an independent Software Evaluation for SMCNSW to determine the most suitable Cemetery Management and Finance solution.

The Vendor and Solution Evaluation Process included:

  • Preparation of business requirements using CMC’s Business Scenario guidelines.
  • Request for Proposal
  • Vendor Demonstrations
  • Extensive reference checks and due diligence.
  • Supported the selection of a preferred vendor

After selecting their preferred vendor, SMCNSW advanced to the Detailed Design Stage.

Throughout the process, CMC provided CIO Services and Project Management to support the activities during the Detailed Design Phase.
