Background

Real Pet Food Company includes VIP Pet Foods and the GMP Kangaroo Company. The organisation required a Project Manager to support the standardisation and consolidation of the IT infrastructure and integrated business systems across multiple locations.

Business Challenge

The project needed to include realignment of the software implementation of the QAD ERP (GL, AR and AP) that was running to a tight schedule.

Project Management Results

Real Pet Food Company engaged Combined Management Consultants (CMC) to provide a Project Manager to oversee the successful implementation of QAD to various business units across NSW, QLD, WA and TAS.

The rollout included core functions such as Finance, Purchasing, Sales, Production, Shop Floor, and Inventory.

Product Costing, BI Reporting, Payroll and T&A, EDI, Labelling and Export documentation was also covered.

CMC’s project management activities included:

  • Developing and documenting the operating procedures (SOP), work instructions and test scripts.
  • Managing UAT processes for all 4 sites across Australia.
  • Developing a detailed Cut Over and Go Live plan leading to the successful implementation of QAD within a very short timeframe of 2 months.
  • Developing core internal control procedures for key financial processes.
  • Providing training and change management support to end users.
