Background

Bradnams Windows and Doors, a leading Australian manufacturer of windows and doors, launched a project to establish an ERP foundation. The existing systems lacked special functional requirements for a windows and doors fabricator. This prompted them to focus on a new Business Systems ERP replacement strategy.

Bradnams evaluated the market and selected JD Edwards as the ‘best fit’ for the business. They began implementing JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.

Business Challenge

The ERP project urgently required scope and budget structure. Bradnams realised their needed the support and assistance from an experienced independent ERP Advisory and Consulting firm.

ERP Project Results

Bradnams engaged Combined Management Consultants (CMC) as the strategic implementation partner for the ERP Project in South East Queensland. CMC delivered recommendations to the Steering Committee, including a Program Charter that outlined the structure, governance, and resource requirements.

This plan enabled Bradnams understand their financial budgets and timeframes. CMC developed the Project Plan and established budgets for implementing the systems in other states.

CMC provided these consulting services:

  • Steering Committee Representation – One of CMC Directors provided Strategic Direction and advice to the Board.
  • Project Governance and Quality Assurance – CMC’s Project Manager worked with the Bradnams team to effectively manage all project workstreams.
  • Change Management and Training – CMC prepared a Change Management Strategy. They also mentored in-house resources to prepare the business and workforce for the changed business processes.
  • Rollout Planning – CMC completed national analysis for the rollout to Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney was completed.
  • Training Management – CMC appointed a Training Manager develop the Training Strategy. The team prepared training materials, organized staff training sessions and implemented effective support during and after “Go Live”
  • Test Management – CMC guided the testing using their CMC’s Collaborative Risk Based Testing. Subsequently, the team applied CMC’s Test templates and methods for test function deliverables.

CMC has strong business ethics and a well-developed and insightful technology review process. They added tremendous value to our ERP Project.
