Downer EDI Mining, a part of the Downer Group has grown into the leading provider of services across the infrastructure, mining, and engineering sectors.
Business Challenge
Downer EDI Mining relied on JD Edwards World software as its core Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. However, the system no longer supported the company’s current or future business needs. Senior management recognised the need to upgrade to the latest JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP system to drive continued growth and enhance operational efficiency across the organisation.
Results
Downer engaged CMC to review the Business Case for the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne upgrade. CMC’s Strategic Consultant provided feedback, which the Executive Team approved.
Following this, Downer asked CMC to Project Manage Phase 1 of the project and support its methodology. This phase included preparing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to evaluate potential JD Edwards Implementation Partners.
CMC also delivered Change Management Consulting, outlining the activities required to build a Change Management Strategy and defining the steps for initiating executive-level communications.
As a result, the organisation gained:
