Background
Mission Australia is a community service organisation. It has more than 3,000 staff and 1,000 volunteers. For almost 150 years, it has helped Australians in need find pathways to a better life. Services include employment, training, housing, family, youth, and community support.
The workforce includes social workers, youth workers, psychologists, counsellors, and community development workers. It also includes teachers, allied health professionals, trainers, managers, administrators, entrepreneurs, and fundraisers.
Business Challenge
In June 2007, Mission Australia selected FlowConnect to develop MACSIMS. The system would support all services with activities such as case management. It went live in May 2009. Since then, the project has included multiple releases, planning cycles, and requirements reviews. Mission Australia wanted an independent QA assessment. The goal was to review the quality of releases and the time taken to deliver them to users.
Results
CMC conducted an independent QA review of the MACSIMS Test Management processes. The review looked at FlowConnect’s project management structure, team capability, scope, and estimation practices. CMC focused on testing and release management. It evaluated the actions taken to improve release quality and reduce delivery time. CMC provided a report with key recommendations. It also developed a high-level project plan to support implementation.
