Background
Australian Wool Innovation is a Not-for-Profit organisation owned by nearly 22,000 Australian woolgrowers. Australian Wool Innovation invests in research, development, innovation and marketing along the global supply chain for Australian wool.
Business Challenge
As a part of a tri-annual Review of Performance, Australian Wool Innovation identified a need to enhance its data management and reporting to ensure more consistent and reliable utilisation of data in decision making, program evaluation and general operations. Ad-hoc reporting, poor data quality, unreliable data sources and limited knowledge retention was limiting Australian Wool Innovation ability to effectively pursue its Mission Statement – to increase the sustainability of the Australian wool industry.
Software Evaluation Results
CMC was engaged to facilitate an independent, pragmatic and auditable Evaluation Process to determine the best Data Management and Reporting Solution and Vendor to meet Australian Wool Innovation’s diverse Data Management and Reporting requirements.
CMC’s Evaluation Methodology was used to document the Business Scenarios and Request for Proposal. Australian Wool Innovation then decided on a shortlist of Vendors to progress to the presentation stage. A preferred Vendor was selected following reference checking and due diligence. Australian Wool Innovation proceeded to a Proof of Concept and then the implementation.
