Background

Orlando Wyndham, now operating as Pernod Ricard Pacific, initiated the implementation of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, part of the Oracle ERP applications suite, to modernise and streamline their enterprise operations. A boutique consulting firm based in Adelaide led the implementation effort, focusing on core business functions such as finance, supply chain, and production.

Business Challenge

As the implementation progressed, Pernod Ricard identified a critical gap in their internal capability to manage the training and user adoption components of the ERP rollout. The company required an experienced ERP Training Consultant to:

  • Develop comprehensive, user-friendly training materials tailored to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
  • Conduct structured end-user training sessions across functional teams.
  • Coordinate all training logistics and schedules across multiple business units.
  • Support Change Management activities to help staff transition to the new system and processes.

The success of the ERP implementation depended heavily on the ability of staff to confidently adopt the new system — making training a key risk area that required immediate and expert attention.

Results

CMC supplied a highly experienced JD Edwards ERP Trainer with deep expertise in Oracle’s User Productivity Kit (UPK). The consultant was embedded on-site in Adelaide and worked collaboratively with the project team and subject matter experts to:

  • Build scenario-based training content using UPK, tailored to the client’s specific business processes.
  • Deliver hands-on training sessions that equipped staff with the practical skills needed to use the new ERP system effectively.
  • Establish a training schedule that aligned with project milestones and user readiness.
  • Assist with Change Management communications and stakeholder engagement activities as directed by the internal management team.

The training program ensured a smooth transition for staff and significantly contributed to early user adoption of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. The consultant’s familiarity with both the ERP platform and the UPK toolset enabled Pernod Ricard to meet their go-live objectives with minimal disruption.
