Background

Sandvik, a global leader in providing equipment and solutions for mineral exploration, surface and underground mining, bulk materials handling, and environmental restoration, embarked on a significant enterprise resource planning (ERP) initiative. The organisation sought to implement the Pronto Xi ERP system to streamline its operations and consolidate disparate systems. To oversee this critical transformation, Sandvik required an experienced ERP Project Manager to lead the implementation.

Business Challenge

Sandvik’s rapid growth through acquisitions had resulted in a complex organisational structure, particularly in the Australia Pacific region. This complexity posed challenges in maintaining operational efficiency across various business units.

The implementation of Pronto Xi ERP aimed to address these challenges by unifying multiple legacy systems into a single integrated platform.

The project involved significant changes to core business processes, including:

  • Finance: Standardising financial reporting and consolidating multi-currency transactions.
  • Purchasing: Enhancing procurement workflows for improved cost efficiency.
  • Warehousing: Streamlining inventory management and logistics.

  5. Change Management and Training: Facilitating Change Management and conducting comprehensive training sessions for employees to ensure smooth adoption of the new system.
