Background

Bush’s Pet Foods manufactured wet and dry pet food products. As a privately owned business, it aimed to expand in domestic and overseas markets. The company also focused on reducing costs and inefficiencies to improve margins.

Business Challenge

Bush’s Pet Foods needed a roadmap to identify IT and ERP system improvements. These improvements would support their growth and strategic goals.

Results

Bush’s Pet Foods engaged CMC to prepare an IT Strategic Plan.  The strategy found that Bush’s needed to keep investing in IT infrastructure. It also highlighted the need to improve employee skills in current and emerging technologies. The strategy focused on better decision-making, stronger market competitiveness, and improved customer service.

The IT Strategy aimed to:

  • Align IT, systems, and infrastructure with the company’s strategic goals to optimise future spending.
  • Strengthen Bush’s ability to engage with suppliers, partners, and customers for electronic trading and data exchange.
  • Establish a foundation for Information Systems projects, Help Desk strategies, and the IT Support team structure.

CMC made several key recommendations. A Portfolio of Projects was identified to ensure effective and efficient use of information systems across the business.

Bush's Pet Foods utilised CMC's IT and Business Consulting services for over 2 years, and we found the principals to always act in an extremely professional and helpful manner
