Background
Optus is a national telecommunications organisation and the primary owner of Australia’s satellite services. The organisation required an experienced Application Architect.
Business Challenge
Optus invited CMC to act as the Application Architect and Project Consultant for its satellite bid to the Federal Government. The bid aimed to provide untimed local calls and internet services to Australia’s “extended zones.”
Results
CMC reviewed potential application architecture options with members of the Optus IT Group and designed a solution. The architecture supported all required functions, including ordering, installation, customer service, and fault management for telephony, pay TV, and internet services.
CMC designed the Application Architecture, and Optus Satellite Management formally approved it. CMC also prepared and submitted the proposal to the Federal Government.
In addition, CMC wrote several key sections of the bid, including those covering regulatory compliance and employment opportunities for people with disabilities and Indigenous communities.
