Background
PVH Brands Australia (PVHBA), previously known as Gazal Corporation, represents a wide range of clothing, intimate apparel, and sleepwear brands across Australia and New Zealand. The organisation launched several initiatives to streamline and enhance its supply chain processes, aiming to cut costs and improve space and manpower utilisation in its warehousing operations. To support its growth plans, PVHBA required a robust ERP strategy.
At the time, PVHBA operated on a heavily customised BPCS system, which interfaced with various other systems to manage business operations. The company had significantly rewritten major financial components and added style, colour, and size functionality. There were 13 divisions managing specific brands like Mambo, Van Heusen, Midford, and Lovable. Each division operated independently and had developed unique processes tailored to their business needs.
Business Challenge
PVHBA projected significant productivity gains by establishing a Common Operating Model (COM) across its divisions. The company identified several business areas as candidates for integration into the existing Shared Services operation. To drive this transformation, PVHBA needed a modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution to replace its outdated system.
Results
PVHBA engaged CMC to develop an ERP strategy and manage the evaluation process for a new system. CMC applied its proven methodology to assess ERP solutions with built-in apparel functionality. The team conducted workshops to define a Common Operating Model (COM) and document business scenarios tailored to PVHBA’s operations.
Based on detailed requirements from the tender documents, CMC issued a Request for Proposal (RFP).
PVHBA selected SAP ERP 6.0, including the Apparel and Footwear industry template, and successfully implemented the solution.
