Background

In early 2012, iNova merged with Valeant Pharmaceuticals. Following the merger, the company launched a project to transform iNova Pharmaceuticals from an Australia-focused business into a broader, growth-oriented organisation. This also involved targeting emerging markets in Asia and Africa. Internal resources managed and deployed changes to the existing SAP business system, but the company identified a need for detailed SAP Change Management capabilities.

Business Challenge

An SAP vendor partnered with iNova to reconfigure its SAP systems to align with the company’s new structure and functional scope. Due to the significant changes affecting the business, iNova required a comprehensive Change Management Strategy. This would also include a Training Strategy and Communication Strategy. iNova engaged CMC to deliver this component of the project.

Results

Combined Management Consultants collaborated with iNova’s Senior Leadership and Deloitte Consulting in Singapore. Current and new employees needed to prepared for the new Asia-Pacific regional operating structure, business processes, and systems. CMC led the SAP change management, training, and communication efforts across several key workstreams. Workstreams included Finance, Supply Chain, Tax, HR, Technical Operations, and IT.

CMC delivered the following:

  • Organisational SAP Change Management Strategy

  • Training Schedule for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and new business processes

  • High-Level Impact Assessment (covering roles, responsibilities, customers, and suppliers)
