Business Systems Review Background

Fantastic Furniture had successfully implemented a new POS, Retail, ERP and Warehouse Management System across their business. The system had been in use for over 4 years and senior management believed it was time for the organisation to conduct an independent Business Systems Review.

Business Challenge

Fantastic Furniture wanted to gain a clear and unbiased perspective of inventory management operations with a view to determining whether the systems were delivering the anticipated benefits and where processes or systems could be improved.

They were also keen to identify if there were any inventory related data integrity issues or security and access control issues within the business.

Results

CMC completed the Business Systems Review for Fantastic. The review covered Inventory processes from Point of Sale (POS) to the Distribution Centre.

An Executive Report was prepared that identified Recommendations and Actions on where Processes, Systems or People could be improved. It specifically addressed:

  • Inventory Management
  • Organisational Culture
  • Security and Control
  • Governance
  • Staff Training
  • User Acceptance Testing
  • Service Desk
  • Warehousing

The report was accepted, and the initiatives and recommendations were forwarded to senior management for consideration.

We found CMC’s consultants to be diligent and highly professional and as such have engaged CMC for a number of projects including the development of a Strategic Information Systems Plan (SISP) focusing on process improvement and IT services for our multiple brands
