Background

OPSM had a requirement to upgrade their Back Office Servers at over 300 stores throughout Australia and New Zealand. The new Servers would be running on the Linux operating system and were required to access all the relevant OPSM corporate systems. Strategies for data transfer to Head Office for consolidation and centralised backup using ADSL were a part of the project scope.

Business Challenge

To roll out to all identified stores, within a tightly constrained budget and timeframe; while minimising disruption to business operations.

Results

CMC project managed the roll out to the stores. This involved liaising and agreeing technical specifications and liaison with external service providers and internal OPSM IT support teams.

The project was completed under budget and on time. The ADSL backup component could not be delivered due to lack of available telecommunication services at some locations. A separate sub project was initiated to finalise this element.
