Background
Bush’s Group is a leading manufacturer of wet and dry pet foods and products. As a privately owned business, its strategy was to continue expanding domestic and overseas markets and to reduce costs and inefficiencies to improve margins.
Business Challenge
Bush’s required a roadmap that identified the IT and ERP Business System improvements that would be necessary to support the growth and strategic direction of Bush’s.
Results
CMC was commissioned to prepare a Strategic Information Systems Plan (SISP). The SISP determined that there was an ongoing requirement for Bush’s to invest in and maintain IT infrastructure and improve employee skill levels for current and new technologies. The focus was on support for better decision making, increased market competitiveness and improved levels of customer service.
The strategic objectives for the SISP were to:
- Align the company objectives for IT, systems and infrastructure with their strategic objectives with a view to optimising future IT expenditures.
- Provide Bush’s with superior capability to engage with industry suppliers and partners and customers in the domestic and international market place for electronic trading and exchange of data.
- Provide a foundation with respect to Information Systems projects, Help Desk strategies and IT Support team structure for the business.
A number of key recommendations were made and a Portfolio of Projects were identified to deliver the effective and efficient use of information systems across all aspects of the business.
