Sunshades Eyewear (Sunshades) is a wholesaler of sunglasses and optical frames and one of the largest privately owned eyewear companies in Australia.
The company has been in operation for over 40 years and has grown from being a supplier of unbranded sunglasses to local pharmacies into an international licensor and distributor of fashion eyewear selling in excess of 3 million pairs of sunglasses a year in over 30 countries. The business is now at the forefront of the Australian eyewear industry designing, manufacturing, selling and distributing named and white label brands.
Sunshades was looking to assess the feasibility of either upgrading their existing ERP System or implementing a new ERP Business System to support ongoing growth in the business. In particular, the company was looking to reduce manual processes and improve efficiencies in the areas of financial and management reporting, supply chain and inventory, sales and marketing, customer service, contract manufacturing management, stock control, traceability and performance management.
CMC was engaged to conduct an independent Evaluation and Selection Process to determine the best approach moving forward. A Vendor Pre-Qualification process was conducted to assist in short listing suitable Vendors and Solutions. CMC also worked with the business to document Sunshades’ Key Business Scenarios.
CMC then project managed the Evaluation & Selection Process which included the Request for Proposal, Vendor Presentations, Due Diligence and Reference Site Visits. CMC also provided technical advice to support the decision making process.
A Vendor Selection Report was prepared for the Executive team and based on all the information provided throughout the process, Sunshades decided to progress with upgrading their existing ERP.
