Background
Albert Johnson is a leading supplier of structural wooden products to mining and heavy industry. The company produces products from raw Australian hardwood saw logs. They also provide traditional saw milling products.
Business Challenge
The current business system was not supporting the requirements of the business and the organisation required a cost effective integrated solution that would take the business to the next level. The organisation also required more accurate management accounting, better reporting and a system that would support workflow and reduce work effort and duplication of tasks throughout the order / production / delivery process.
Key requirements included Order and Production Management and Electronic POD for trucks.
Results
Albert Johnson engaged CMC to undertake an independent Vendor and Software Evaluation and Selection for a new Business System. Albert Johnson sought expressions of interest from a number of ERP vendors to implement a replacement system that was fully integrated and would provide efficiencies and process improvements to the company.
CMC’s Evaluation and Selection Methodology was used to pre-qualify the vendors, document the business requirements using Business Scenarios and facilitate a pragmatic market assessment resulting in a preferred vendor recommendation. Albert Johnson selected MYOB EXO / 4Ops as the solution and Enprise / 4Technologies as the joint vendors. The project succeeded in gaining Board approval and proceeded to implementation.
CMC continued to work with Albert Johnson on the implementation of the new business system.
