Background

iNova merged with Valeant Pharmaceuticals in early 2012. A Project was initiated to transform iNova Pharmaceuticals from an Australian focused company to one with a broader footprint and focus to include growth opportunities in emerging markets such as Asia and Africa. Existing SAP business system changes were being managed and deployed by internal resources and a requirement existed for detailed change management capability.

Business Challenge

An SAP vendor was working with iNova to reconfigure the existing SAP business systems to cater for the change in structure and functional domain. The large degree of change being experienced by the business required the deployment of a comprehensive change management, training and communication strategy. CMC was engaged to deliver this component of the project.

Results

CMC was engaged to work in close consultation with iNova Senior Leadership teams and Deloitte Consulting, Singapore to ensure that current and new employees were well prepared to work with the new Asia Pac regional operating structure, business processes and systems. CMC was responsible for managing the change, training and communications across the following key work streams: Finance, Supply Chain, Tax, HR, Technical Operations and IT as part of the SAP Implementation.

The following deliverables were prepared as part of the engagement:

  • Organisational Change Management Strategy.
  • Stakeholder Communications Needs and Calendar of Events.
  • Training Schedule for UAT and new business processes.
  • High-Level Impact Assessment (Roles and Responsibilities, Customers and Suppliers).
  • Preparation of Internal and External Communication Packs.
  • Monthly Newsletters.

CMC worked with key stakeholders to understand their information needs and communication styles and provide a forum where people were encouraged to collaborate and be kept informed about project related changes.
