Retravision is a co-operative based market leading retailer with approximately 450 stores across Australia and New Zealand. The stores in the group include independently owned and operated businesses. There are Regional Offices throughout Australia and New Zealand, as well as a National office.
Retravision had gone through a significant requirements analysis stage which produced a complete set of process documentation for all business processes relating to store operations.
Retravision made the decision to replace the current system as it was no longer capable of being extended or enhanced sufficiently to fully meet current and future business needs. The replacement was part of the organisation’s overarching strategy for IT business support and process improvement.
Retravision had limited experience with an assessment process of this type and engaged the assistance of CMC with multiple levels of consulting capability. A new store based Point of Sale (POS) and Back Office System was required by Retravision Stores to better meet business requirements and to provide the flexibility and information needed to stay ahead of the competition.
A Project Director was engaged to manage the finalisation of the Business Requirements Documentation and to establish the Project Office for the team. CMC then provided Project Management Methodology and Support to assist with the Evaluation and Selection Process as well as the Business Case and Benefits Realisation Strategy Development.
A structured market assessment of potential Point Of Sale and Back Office Solutions was conducted. Business Scenarios were developed to accompany the RFP documentation and demonstrations were held. Following the due diligence and reference process a preferred vendor was selected. CMC assisted Retravision with ongoing ERP Consulting and Advice and Project Management Support for Stage 2 which resulted in the Blueprint (Design / Scope / Interface requirements) Documentation and strategic planning documents (Implementation) detailing the activities required to develop and implement the chosen solution.
CMC also provided Change Management and Transition Support to the client’s Project Team and this was integral to the success of the project. Stage 3 was the implementation (development, testing and pilot) of the chosen system and Stage 4 was the rollout of the completed solution to all Retravision stores.
