Oasis Horticulture is a privately owned business with a long record of success and growth in the horticultural industry. They are a market leader with production facilities near Cranbourne in Victoria and Springwood in NSW. Recent acquisitions have consolidated this position of strength and allowed the company to continue its drive to create quality plants through production efficiency and pooled industry skill and know how.

Business Challenge

The existing systems had been modified through various developments but were no longer able to support the growth in the business. The scope of requirements for a new system included:

  • Customer Order Management
  • Inventory Management – relevant to a green life industry
  • Pick, pack and despatch
  • Purchasing
  • Financials including G/L, A/R and A/P, Asset Management
  • Payroll
  • Interfacing to 3rd party systems – customers and suppliers
  • Integration with other systems – websites and payroll

Results

Oasis engaged CMC to undertake an independent Vendor and Software Evaluation and Selection for a new Business System.

CMC’s Evaluation and Selection Methodology was used to document the business requirements (using Business Scenarios), prepare a Request for Proposal (RFP) and facilitate a pragmatic market assessment resulting in a preferred vendor recommendation.

Oasis selected Pronto as the preferred vendor. The project succeeded in gaining Board approval and proceeded to design and implementation. CMC is providing project management and consulting support as required.
