Background

Metcash are a national grocery wholesaler and distributor (FMCG), particularly providing products to independent retail supermarket stores (such as IGA).

Deloitte Consulting was a PeopleSoft Implementation Partner, with a significant ERP practice.

Business Challenge

Metcash had purchased PeopleSoft’s ERP and commenced implementation using in-house resources. Deloitte Consulting were invited to take over the project and to recommence the deployment of the solution. CMC were asked to provide a Project Director for the Deloitte Consulting PeopleSoft team.

Results

PeopleSoft was deployed for Metcash Shared Services (Financial) organisation, as well as for John Lewis Food Services (NSW), which was a business division of Metcash. CMC managed a team of up to 60 Deloitte, PeopleSoft and independent consulting staff.

The John Lewis Food Service business required implementation of the EXE 2000 Advanced Warehouse Management System. This became part of the project scope.

CMC’s Collaborative Risk Based Testing (CRBT) Methodology was used as the foundation for the Test Team. The management of the implementation of the Test Method was conducted as a skills transfer exercise by CMC to the business Test Team Leader. CMC provided Quality Assurance and QA Review of all the Test deliverables.
