Background

Byvan managed a number of shopping centres and car parks and had decided on the acquisition of a new system to better support the functions required by the business. The system was partially implemented when Byvan found that there were serious flaws.

Business Challenge

The project had encountered difficulties in reconciliation and reporting; which resulted in Byvan having an issue of proving Trust Fund compliance. This had the potential to adversely affect the ability of the company to continue in delivering core business requirements – which may have had an impact on their operational licence.

Results

CMC was engaged to conduct a Quality Audit and Review on the new system, to determine the most effective way forward for Byvan.

CMC reviewed the application and prepared a position paper relating to the situation. CMC recommended returning to the previous application as a matter of priority, to ensure that Byvan was operating in an auditable environment. The client accepted the recommendation and commenced the project to reinstate the previous application. In-house staff received mentoring and skills transfer to enable them to conduct the reinstatement project.
