Background

The Association of Independent Schools of NSW (AISNSW) is the peak body for independent schools in NSW and represents the interests of all independent schools in consultation with governments, statutory authorities and a wide range of other education stakeholders. The membership includes schools of many different types, sizes, religious affiliations and educational philosophies.

A major focus of the Association’s activities is to offer quality support to its member schools in the areas of governance, employment relations, compliance, professional development and professional educational consultancy services.

Business Challenge

AISNSW were looking to define an appropriate IT staffing model to better support the organisation. They were also looking to assess opportunities for the AISNSW to actively work with technology vendors to leverage benefits for member schools and to review new technology areas that may enable the AISNSW to realise international and domestic education and professional development strategies. This would also ensure that the AISNSW Corporate Plan was appropriately supported by IT initiatives.

CMC interviewed key staff to ascertain their perspectives in relation to:

  • IT Management and Staffing
  • Support Resources
  • Project Office (PMO) and Governance
