Background

AGL is a major Australian energy provider, delivering Gas and Electricity products and services.

Business Challenge

The organisation required the development and deployment of a new Standard Operating Environment (SOE). The scope included the network, desktop and the creation of a Service Desk. There were a number of variations to the SOE in use within the organisation, creating challenges for new application initiatives.

IBM GSA required a Project Director to manage the project and invited CMC to provide this resource.

Results

A streamlined desktop design to support business functionality was developed and built. The solution was rolled out to all personnel around NSW (approximately 1,400 desktops) to the agreed time schedule and under budget. Additionally, the network was redesigned and streamlined and the Service Desk established.
